As Los Angeles burns to the ground, a plethora of speculation and conspiracies are being fomented by major news outlets. This weaponized rhetoric is taking advantage of the massive destruction and loss of lives with little consideration for those profoundly impacted by the fires. Anything from climate change, diminished water resources, Trump taking office, and disinformation in social media are being spun to create more sensationalism, confusion, and despair among the masses. When fires of this magnitude happen, it usually is an attempt to shill an agenda of social control. This time, however, the preponderance of the evidence point the finger at darker powers afoot.
