Do you enjoy a glass of red wine on occasion? I believe that most, with the exception of die-hard teetotalers like me, do enjoy an adult beverage from time to time. As one who trusted what I learned in collage, I went so far as to teach that there were actually health benefits within that glass of red wine. That is all changing rapidly now as the current surgeon general has linked alcohol, including red wine, to the formation of certain cancers. Even those who don’t drink alcohol are told we need to be concerned about “non-alcoholic fatty liver disease,” or NAFLD. Trust me, what causes NAFLD doesn’t seek out and destroy only the liver, as you will learn. I recall from my clinical days when I’d observe physicians raise an eyebrow when their patients with elevated liver enzymes told them they hadn’t had even a sip of alcohol in 20+ years. What then caused their livers to become fat and/or toxic? Join me tomorrow (Monday) from 3-4PM Central Time and let’s study your liver and a known cause of NAFLD. - Doug
