Los Angeles - total destruction.

All these families just lost their homes.

Tell me how entire blocks & rows of houses are reduced to nothing but ash & rubble yet there are plenty of stand alone buildings that appear totally unscathed, right in the middle of all the devastation?!?

Please explain it to me like I’m 6 years old.
