Plant of the Week - Rhubarbarian - was offered between January 11, 2025 through January 18, 2025.

Rhubarbarian is a member of the Enforcement-Mint family.
Rhubarbarian costs 100 Sun.
When planted, Rhubarbarian does 190 damage to all zombies in a 3x3 area. (+30 damage on levels 2-6, +40 damage on level 7 and +60 damage on levels 8-10.)
Rhubarbarian will punch zombies in front of him dealing 50 damage. (+15 damage on levels 2-7, +20 damage on levels 8-10.)
If there are no zombies to punch, Rhubarbarian will leap forward and repeat the process.
Rhubarbarian will stay on the lawn for 16 seconds. (+1 second on levels 3, 5, 7 and 9.)

Commentary:
The best way to think of Rhubarbarian is akin to a long-lasting Jalapeño plant. You plant Rhubarbarian at the front zombie and let Rhubarbarian clear out the lane.

Bottom Line:
Rhubarbarian is a cool plant and a cool idea. But its effectiveness doesn't quite match. Jalapeño costs 25 Sun more and does a lot more damage. Jalapeño also damages all zombies in the lane whereas Rhubarbarian can only attack plants in front of it.

We've also had instances of plants slipping past Rhubarbarian on a lane; so you can not even say “I can ignore this lane for awhile and concentrate on something else.”

So the Bottom Line is this is a cool plant but there are better options.

Reward is 20 Rhubarbarian seeds.
Players start with 1,675 Sun.
Not enough firepower and Pokra were ineffective with the tombstones forcing them away from Zomboss.

We do not get a preview of Penny's Pursuit before it is released. So what you see is what players get.

We also try to vary the strategies from week to week and showcasing different plants and strategies and ideas. Using the same strategy week after week would be boring to see.
