Psalm 40:1, patience, 'I waited patiently for the LORD'
John 16:33, patience is grown by having tribulation- not suffering alone, but following God through it all. At some point in time, everyone will have the desire to be rescued from their tribulation. Only God rescues. There is tribulation without God (without hope) and then there is tribulation with God (with hope).
Hebrews 4:16, Micah 7:7, 'I will [WAIT] for the God of my [SALVATION]: my God [WILL HEAR] me [...]' to 'find grace to help in time of need.'
Psalm 40:2, to be rescued: to be pulled out of a horrible pit of destruction and then set safely on solid ground
Psalm 40:2, 'miry clay'- a wet place that thrives on decomposing matter- a swamp- pulled out of a swamp and set on safe ground
Ephesians 2:1-3, where the unsaved people used to be
Ephesians 2:6-8, where the newly converted people are placed, why they were rescued and for what purpose
Psalm 27:5, Psalm 37:23, God establishes the "safe" passage through tribulation. Example: God is not leading us into temptation and evil, but safely guiding us through the wilderness around those temptations and obstacles.
Psalm 40:3, 'he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God'
Psalm 40:3, '[MANY] shall see it [...] and [...] trust in the LORD'
