The journalist Carlos Alsina has used his characteristic irony to comment on the candidacy of María Jesús Montero for the presidency of the Junta de Andalucía, a decision that, according to him, seems to have been more of an imposition than a voluntary choice. In his programme, Alsina has analysed Montero's recent speech, describing it as “another rally” by a candidate who presents herself as the hope of Andalusian socialism to recover the autonomous government.

“It will not go down in the history of rhetoric, but the vice-president María Jesús Montero gave her speech - another rally - in her new capacity as a person who is excited to preside over the Andalusian government. The redeemer whose advent is celebrated, by force, what else, by Andalusian socialism”, Alsina has said ironically, pointing out that her candidacy is presented as a kind of salvation.

Montero has promised to go where her predecessor, Juan Espadas, could not, assuring that she will recover the government of the community. However, Alsina has ridiculed the PSOE's narrative, which insists that they left an "unfinished" task in Andalusia.

With a sarcastic tone, Alsina has questioned this statement, highlighting that the PSOE governed the region for 37 consecutive years, with several absolute majorities: "The unfinished task. You have to understand it: the PSOE only governed Andalusia for 37 years. Uninterrupted. With several absolute majorities. In such a short time, and with such tied hands, there is no one who can completely modernize an autonomous community."

The comment has resonated on social networks, where it has generated divided opinions. While some consider his criticism to be correct, others defend the socialist legacy in Andalusia. What is clear is that Montero's candidacy has begun to arouse intense reactions, both inside and outside the political sphere.
