You can look up the last 10+ years of FCC enforcement actions, fines, and arrests at the FCC website, here: https://www.fcc.gov/enforcement/orders
This week the FCC upheld a $34,000 fine against a ham-radio operator for causing harmful interference, causing "some people" to proclaim that this action by the FCC proves that if you use you ham radio without a license you too will receive a large fine or even go to jail. In this video I explain what really happened, how "FCC Law Enforcement" had nothing to do with it, and how the action against this amateur radio operator will not deter anyone from causing interference on ham radio frequencies or GMRS channels, or prevent anyone from talking on a ham radio or GMRS radio without an FCC license.
