7th In our series the Epistle of Paul to the Ephesians

I. Paul Preaching at Mar’s Hill - Acts 17:16-23
* A. The Athenians were very superstitious
* 1. They had idols for every area of life
* 2. They welcomed new idols not wanting to miss any deity
* 3. Today’s popular idol of scientism
* B. Paul preaches to them regarding the “Unknown God”
* 1. The instrument for Measuring the non-material - Romans 2:14-15
* a. The conscience measures right and wrong
* b. It informs us of the most important truths
* c. For all have sinned - Romans 3:23
* d. The wages of sin is death - Romans 6:23

II. The Path of True Redemption - Ephesians 1:7
* A. Jesus Christ alone answers the need for our redemption

* d. Why the world rejects the doctrine of hell 
* 2. Why is blood necessary for redemption?
* a. Life is in the blood -  Leviticus 17:11
* b. Blood makes atonement for the soul
* B. The blessed forgiveness of sins 
* 1. As far as the east is from the west - Psalm 103:12
* 2. Cast our sins into the depths of the sea - Micah 7:19
