There are few remaining functioning hospitals in the North of Gaza and even fewer that provide follow-up care for the number of patients who have been wounded, suffered broken bones, or amputated limbs. These injured patients are spread out across different neighborhoods and transportation costs to see doctors are expensive.

Today Translating Falasteen x @thesameerproject brought the care to the patients. Our doctor chose 17 of the most critical cases for treatment including wound cleaning, disinfecting, and dressing changes, from Qurban and Yarmouk camps in North Gaza. A tent was set up in Qurban camp where our team of 2 nurses and a doctor saw 2 cases of amputations and 15 cases of external fixators on broken and shattered bones. In addition to the dressing changes and cleanings, medication was also handed out to the patients, their numbers were also noted for follow-ups.

As you can see, despite the pain and suffering from their wounds, the patients were incredibly relieved to get their injuries tended to at a medical clinic on the camp grounds. Many do not have anyone to assist them, so bringing the care to them in the form of a mobile medical point allowed them to be seen and treated without the expense and obstacles of reaching a hospital on their own.

Continue to support the North campaign so we can bring more mobile medical points and wound care to patients that need our help.
