Please Help the Victims

I find myself deeply troubled by the Palisades Fire ravaging southern California. Last year, I too faced the merciless grasp of flame and lost all that I held dear. I know the heartache and sorrow that the victims endure. Each dawn, I awaken, hoping it was but a nightmare, yet the cruel reality remains.

The absence of compassion from those who have not walked this path can chill the very soul. They offer words like, 'At least you are alive,' unaware of the depths of such loss. Only those who have faced the desolation can truly grasp the weight of it. There is no singular path to healing, despite what others may proclaim; the only 'right way' is to press onward, though I cannot say in which direction, for I am still searching myself.

I have also borne witness to callous words regarding the very place where these fires rage. While it is true that the state has suffered from poor stewardship, this does not lessen the pain of those affected. I fear many may harden their hearts to this tragedy, perhaps viewing it as a form of divine retribution, but such thoughts are misguided.

I yearn to extend my hand to those in need, yet I have naught left to give. All that remains is my time and the little talent I possess. In the past day, I have crafted a song inspired by 'God Help the Outcasts,' penned by the esteemed Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz.

I pray it may touch the hearts of others, not just in their response to this disaster, but to all who suffer. My audience is but small, so I humbly ask you to share it widely. Feel free to upload it to other websites or your own channels. This is not for the sake of gaining views or followers; I simply wish to do what I can to help and pray that it may be enough.
