HARNWELL: Has Trump U-turned on Ukraine? Rather than 24hrs to fix, he now says he wants “six months”

President Trump suggested at the Mar-a-Lago press conference this week that “six months” was a more realistic target to end the war.

Folks, this is big. If Trump doesn’t disengage the US from Ukraine asap, *he* is going to own Kiev’s defeat. That’s just how it is. If Trump waits six months to pull out, *he* will be the one left looking weak, or worse — in order to avoid looking weak — he will be constrained to stay in.

I would withdraw the US — unilaterally — within 24 hours. I wouldn’t even wait for negotiations, as the US has no interests it needs to secure. Let the fallout be on Biden. He created the mess.
