“There are no stupid questions” is an unattributed quote, but one we’ve all heard.

Thing is, it arrived before social media.

Back in the pre-internet dark ages, people were given the benefit of the doubt.

“Is this person normal, or stupid? Probably normal.”

Now, we know just how pervasive stupid is, and how tight a stranglehold it has on society.

The logic behind, “It is better to remain silent and thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt” has gone the way of the Dodo. People today are all too willing to scream their unique brand of stupid from o’er the rooftops.

(Not that they know who Walt Whitman is.)

Oh well.

It’s been a fun ride, hasn’t it?
