Winter temps and bad smart thermostat design

So for those who like the idea of a smart home and you will need heat in the colder months keep this in mind as I just learned the hard way.
Many smart thermostats do not have a default user function and if you have to rest your thermostat in the winter and it will not connect to wifi you may have a problem, like your thermostat won’t work.
I will give you a work around the did the trick for me.
