Tom Hanks’ cliffside LA home narrowly avoids wildfire, stunning photos show

Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson's $26 million Pacific Palisades home narrowly escaped destruction from the devastating Los Angeles wildfires. Photos revealed that while their four-bedroom, five-bathroom property remained untouched, a massive cliffside mansion above them was destroyed. Their son, Chet Hanks, expressed his heartbreak on Instagram, saying, "The neighborhood I grew up in is burning to the ground."

The couple, both 68, purchased their current home in 2010, though they previously owned a Spanish-style villa in the Pacific Palisades, bought as newlyweds and sold in 2014 for $5 million. Hanks also owns an 1,800-square-foot beach house in Malibu, though its current status is unclear.

The ongoing Palisades Fire erupted Tuesday morning and has since destroyed 1,000 homes and businesses, with additional devastation from the Eaton and Hurst fires. By Thursday, 180,000 people were under evacuation orders, though the Hollywood Hills evacuation was later lifted. Tragically, five deaths have been confirmed.

The fires have also claimed the homes of several celebrities, including Paris Hilton, Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt, and Leighton Meester and Adam Brody. Page Six reached out to Hanks and Wilson’s representatives for comment on the situation.

This series of wildfires has caused widespread destruction across Los Angeles, including in Acton and Runyon Canyon. The affected communities continue to grapple with the devastation as firefighters work to contain the blazes.
