Radio Liberty reports that at least two people have died from it. Both victims are in Eaton Canyon, a green space northeast of the city. The fires have come close to urban development, and residential buildings are burning.

More than 32 thousand people have already been evacuated, the evacuation continues. In addition, thousands of residents of the district are leaving their homes on their own. A state of emergency has been declared in the district.

In the Pacific Palisades area, one of the most expensive and prestigious in the state and the country as a whole, the fire has already destroyed more than a thousand buildings, and at least 28 thousand structures are under threat. Authorities have closed dozens of schools. The Federal Aviation Administration has banned flights over the areas engulfed in fire.

Los Angeles officials asked residents to stock up on water because the fire could damage the city's water supply. Mayor Karen Bass warned of severe smoke and urged residents to stay indoors, close windows and doors tightly, and wear face masks.

Los Angeles County Fire Chief Anthony Marrone admitted his department is struggling to put out the fire.

"We were prepared for one or two major fires, but not four at once," he said.

Reservists and firefighters from neighboring counties have been called in to help.

US President-elect Donald Trump, on the social network Truth, blamed the fires on California Governor Gavin Newsom, a Democrat who had previously refused to approve a project to redistribute water resources in the state.

Newsom said the redistribution would threaten biodiversity in local waterways, while Trump said it would create reserves of water to fight fires. Trump also distorted Newsom's last name, making it rhyme with "scum."

Financial company JP Morgan estimates that the damage already caused by the fire could reach $10 billion.
