as the sun rises and morning dawns on Los Angeles, The worst-case scenario has been realized in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood of Los Angeles, where an estimated 1,000 structures, many of them homes, have been destroyed by a Santa Ana-wind-fueled wildfire, authorities revealed on Wednesday morning.

At a news conference Wednesday morning, L.A. County Fire Chief Anthony Marrone revealed that an estimated 1,000 structures had been lost. There was also a “high number of people who didn’t evacuate” who suffered serious injuries. 2 people were reported killed so far.

As of now, evacuations span alll over the northern half of the city.

There are multiple fires in progress additonal to the palisades fire.

The worst of the winds aren’t even here yet, with winds gusting up ro 100 MPH in the city, and up to 150+ MPH on mountain tops (recorded by unmanned weather stations)
