Shamgar Connors Stafford School Board 4-9-2024 SERIOUSLY talking about funding - why no discipline

here is a video of me speaking up at the STAFFORD school board, on 4-9-2024.

i was SERIOUS this time, i pointed out the problem in the schools, because everyone keeps asking why these students that are attacking each other, and even attacking teachers (to the point one teacher got brain damage i believe), are NEVER suspended or expelled!

if anyone was wondering why, i cover it in here, its because when i was a teacher i was told that the schools will LOSE funding if they suspend students, and remove them from classroom instructional time.

that is correct, your children that arent breaking rules are forced to be around other children that ARE breaking the rules, and they KNOW there are no consequences.

did you know that if the student is a minority, and that student gets suspended/expelled, the school loses even more funding?

thats right, i had trainings after school where we were told, with paperwork, the lists of white/hispanic/black/other students being written up. we were told we needed to stop writing up the students as much because the school was losing massive amounts of funding.

anyone can look up obamas 'no child left behind' and see that i'm telling the truth about how schools get funded.

i also mention in this video how there is 'social promotion' in virginia. which means that if a student fails one year, they cannot fail 2 years in a row. they get 'socially promoted' to the next grade, even if they have done NO work and learned NOTHING from the previous year. they say because they cannot have children that are too much older than the other kids in the class.

you have to expect, that a large majority of students have figured this system out. they will never be accountable for anything. they KNOW that. so whats going to stop them from fighting or worse?

the students KNOW that you can do NO WORK and still progress to the next grade. why do we all think there is a majority of students in higher level grades that cant do any math or any reading?

the school systems are failing and its all about the funding.

parents NEED TO KNOW THIS and UNDERSTAND IT. and make a scene about this because the way schools get funded needs to change otherwise this problem IS GOING TO GET MUCH WORSE.
