Iskander-M missile strike on Ukrainian S-300 air defense

A recently released video captures a Russian Iskander-M missile strike targeting a Ukrainian command post and an S-300PS air defense system in the Pavlograd area of the Dnepropetrovsk region. This dramatic footage underscores the confrontation between Soviet-era weaponry and modern Russian advancements. The S-300PS, developed in 1982, is capable of intercepting targets at speeds of up to 1200 m/s, with Ukraine previously deploying around 200 such launchers. However, the Iskander-M missile, with a final flight speed of 2100 m/s, proved too advanced for the aging air defense system. The strike effectively destroyed both the command post and the air defense system, showcasing the significant challenges of countering modern ballistic missiles.
