The Michigan Department of Natural Resources and the Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix have come to an agreement that would keep the race on Belle Isle for at least the next three years. According to the DNR, the agreement includes the Grand Prix reducing the total days spent on Belle Isle to 60 in 2019 and 59 in 2020, down from 84 days in the previous contract. Also, the annual fee will go up to $325,000 from $200,000. There is also an option to extend the contract for two more years.
