Pet of the week: Trixie is an energetic 6-month-old hound mix who needs a family of her own

ABC Action News works with local shelters to find homes for pets through our weekly Pet of the Week feature. This week we are featuring Trixie, a 6-month-old Hound mix. Shelter workers say she is full of joyful puppy energy and would love a family to help her learn about the world. Trixie would make for a great family dog that has older kids. Her size and energy level could be too much for toddlers. According to the American Kennel Club, hounds were traditionally used for their hunting skills, a trait they keep to this day as they love chasing small wildlife like squirrels or rabbits. Trixie is spayed, microchipped and vaccinated. Her adoption fee is $200.
