Three Dead in Plane Crash in Rottnest Island, Including Swiss and Danish Tourists.

Perth, Jan 8 – A light aircraft crash near Rottnest Island, a popular tourist destination off the coast of Western Australia, claimed the lives of three people, including tourists from Switzerland and Denmark, as well as the pilot, officials confirmed on Wednesday.

The aircraft, carrying six tourists, went down on Tuesday afternoon, roughly 30 kilometers (18.6 miles) west of Perth. While three passengers survived, they sustained injuries and are receiving medical care.

Expressing his condolences, Western Australia's Premier Roger Cook said, “My thoughts go out to the families and friends of the victims. This is undoubtedly a very difficult time for everyone involved.”

The tragic incident unfolded in full view of holidaymakers, including families with children who were vacationing on the island.

Western Australia Police Commissioner Col Blanch stated that an investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the crash.

Rottnest Island is renowned for its pristine beaches and unique wildlife, attracting visitors from across the globe. This heartbreaking accident has cast a shadow over the usually vibrant and bustling tourist hotspot.
