A San Francisco social worker who helps residents at a supportive housing complex in the SoMa neighborhood was shot in the face by one woman who lives there, investigators said. Dan-iel Drakes was one of two victims who were shot at Tahanan, located at 833 Bryant Street, on January 2, family members told KRON4.

The Tahanan housing complex is managed by a nonprofit, Mercy Housing, and is home to residents who were formerly homeless. Drakes, 37, is employed by Episcopal Community Services and she was reportedly working when she was shot.

The shooter was identified by prosecutors as Monique Davis, 49. She is a convicted felon who was out of custody on bail at the time of the Tahanan shooting.
