Often credited as one of the earliest examples of film noir. Directed by Boris Ingster, it tells the story of a young reporter, Michael Ward (John McGuire), whose testimony convicts a man of murder. As guilt and paranoia consume him, Michael becomes entangled in a web of suspicion when he witnesses a mysterious figure (Peter Lorre) near his apartment.
