VIDEO SYNTHESIS / To understand in a nutshell how European politics have operated since WWII, there are two principal groupings. The so-called centre-right, the Christian Democrats; and the so-called centre-left, the Social Democrats.

Christian Democrats are socialists who go to Mass on Sunday. Social Democrats are socialists who don’t go to Mass on Sunday.

That’s basically the difference. But the problem arose that the guardians of this system failed to ensure it worked for the regular guy. Hence the regular guy now looks outside the two-party fix for representation. And this is where we come in.
