Four members of the violent Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua were arrested as they crossed the border into Texas, according to Governor Greg Abbott.
Abbott saying that Troopers encountered the gang members just outside of Del Rio, and that they snuck into the country with a group of 22 other migrants from Columbia, Mexico, Puru and Venezuela.
Eleven of the 22 were arrested and charged with criminal trespass, and nine of the 11 were from Venezuela.
Law enforcement said their tattoos gave them away, then searches of their cellphones verified that they were indeed members of Tren de Aragua.
The governor has made the safety and security of Americans his top priority and designated TdA as a terrorist organization months ago saying he will not tolerate the gang operating or gaining a foothold in Texas.
