Stanley Park Windstorm - Jackpot!

Arborist Norm Oberson conducts tours in Stanley Park, teaches about the natural ecology of trees and the forest, and shows the harmful effects of the heavy-handed logging project currently underway by the City of Vancouver. Many thousands of trees are being removed, ostensibly for "public safety" and yet the removal is damaging the ecology of the forest and putting citizens at risk. This project was initially pushed through in secret, costing taxpayers millions of dollars. Recently, in an area that had been heavily logged, during a winter windstorm many healthy trees blew down, proving the logging project is a fraud. When a large number of trees fall down loggers call this a "jackpot."
