"These m---- deserved to die, f- with my kids, f- them all." 42-year-old Shuvonne Vinson is charged with the murders of Jennifer Bernhard, 42, and Stevie Smith, 74, attempted murder of Jeffrey Bernhard, 52, and the abduction of two children. “She literally murdered a mother in front of her daughter,” prosecutors said. “She killed two individuals in front of the two minor children.” On January 1, Vinson, Keith Finley, 60, a registered sex offender, and Gregory Callahan, 37, stormed the Bernhard home armed with guns.

The group aimed to take back Vinson's 4-year-old daughter who had been removed from her custody. Sources say the Bernhards had been fostering the child and hoped to adopt her. Jennifer and Stevie were killed, but Jeffrey survived and called 911 from a neighbor's house. The suspects stole jewelry, phones, and credit cards before kidnapping the 4-year-old and the Bernhards' 9-year-old daughter. Police located both children safe hours later in Ypsilanti Township. Vinson allegedly threatened officers’ lives after her arrest. Vinson has a criminal record spanning at least two decades for drug, weapons, and assault charges and attacking police officers. She had 25 active warrants at the time of her arrest.
