It had a note inside:
"Hello---My name is Dick Haberkorn.....

In the mid 1980s ....while Gloria and I were traveling through central Kansas, we stopped in a museum in Hays, Kansas to explore the history of Fort Hays.

In the gift shop we bought an LP record telling the history of a group of catholic immigrants who came to this country in 1876 and who are known locally as the Volga Germans.

They settled in Ellis county and populated the area around Victora, Kansas.

If you ever travel on Interstate 70 through central Kansas in Ellis county, look south toward the town of Victora. From the interstate you can see the twin spires of Saint Fidelis church, a magnificent structure, built by these immigrants, now known as the Cathedral of the plains.

Gloria and I would like to share this beautiful story with you."
