D1 - 12/27/2024, Kagoshima, JapanSakurajima is an active stratovolcano located on Kyushu Island in Japan, near the city of Kagoshima. An eruption occurred in the crater at the top of Minamidake on Sakurajima. The eruption expelled a significant amount of volcanic smoke, rising to a height of 2,200 meters from the crater and moving southeast. Entry restrictions remain in place on Sakurajima with a Level 3 eruption warning.

D2 - 12/31/2024, Agam and Tanah Datar Regencies, West Sumatra, IndonesiaMount Marapi once again ejects volcanic ash up to 500 meters above its summit. The ash column was grey with an intense tilt towards the northeast. This eruption was recorded on a seismogram with a maximum amplitude of 30 millimeters and lasted approximately 28 seconds. A Level 2 danger alert is in effect.

D3 - 1/1/2025, IndonesiaThe eruption of the Ibu volcano continues. The height of the eruption column was observed at a level of ±500 meters above the summit (±1825 meters above sea level). The ash column was grey with more intense intensity to the southeast. The eruption was recorded on a seismograph with a maximum amplitude of 28 mm and lasted for 56 seconds.

D4 - 1/2/2025, Yinchuan, ChinaAn earthquake of magnitude 4.6 struck Jinfeng District, Yinchuan, the capital city of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region in northwest China (latitude 38.41° N, longitude 106.26° E) on Thursday at 16:43 at a depth of 10 km. This was the second earthquake recorded in Ningxia in one day, the first occurring at 10:01 AM at coordinates 38.4 degrees north latitude and 106.22 degrees east longitude.

D5 - 1/1/2025, USABased on analysis, scientists suggest that the location of future rhyolitic volcanism has shifted to the northeast of the Yellowstone caldera.Explanation: Rhyolitic volcanism refers to volcanic activity involving the eruption of silica-rich magma, known as rhyolite.

Comment:The Volcano Discovery website records that there are currently 38 volcanoes erupting around the world. In recent years, there has been an increase in volcanic activity. As the number of earthquakes, especially deep-focus earthquakes, increases, it suggests certain events are occurring within the Earth's interior.
