Syria’s main airport in Damascus is to resume international flights from January 7, after commercial trips were halted following the ouster of President Bashar al-Assad. International aid planes and foreign diplomatic delegations have already been landing in Syria. Domestic flights have also resumed. Pro-Assad forces abandoned the airport in the capital on December 8 as opposition fighters closed in on the city following a lightning offensive.
