SIP #53 - Luther Cifers - Republican Nominee for VA SD10
In this engaging episode of "Sip of Tea," host Buddy Bishop dives into a compelling discussion with Luther, a political outsider and the Republican nominee for the senator of Virginia's Tenth District. Luther shares insights from his campaign journey, reflecting on his unconventional path to politics spurred by a desire to address the growing issues of government control and diminishing liberties. He elaborates on his identity as an "outside conservative," a term he feels resonates with his principles and approach to governance, emphasizing timeless truths over transient political trends.
Throughout the conversation, Luther explains his philosophy on leadership without authority, his knack for problem-solving, and how these skills have shaped his campaign. The discussion also covers the critical issues facing the legislature, Luther's strategies for influencing change despite not holding a majority, and his plans for genuine engagement with the citizens of his district through regular town halls and meetings.
This episode provides a unique look at how Luther plans to challenge the status quo and promote a governance style that prioritizes transparency, truth, and the voices of the constituents. Join us to explore how an outsider plans to make a significant impact in the political landscape, aiming to return to foundational conservative values while adapting to contemporary challenges.
Born into humble beginnings in 1974 in a farm community in Amelia County, VA, Cifers was home schooled from the 3rd grade, working from a young age on the farms of his family and neighbors, and later in his father’s small businesses. His parents instilled in him the conservative values of hard work, self-reliance, and serving others, and when he started his manufacturing career with an entry level job working for an automotive supplier in Farmville, VA in 1993, he quickly rose through the ranks, developing strong skills in design, engineering, and leadership.
