A Civil Society Part 3 – Deut. Chpt. 23

This morning's study is part 3 of a 6-part study on the rules of civil society. Today we'll see a few rules that overlap between civil order and religious practice. They are a good reminder to us that all rule and order flow from God himself. When thought of in those terms, the line between secular and sacred is blurred considerably. If it all flows from God, is there really a distinction between secular and sacred? I'll let you decide for yourself.

In the meantime, some reminders:

• Some of these things will be foreign to us because the mindset was different back then.
• Some of the rules will defy explanation using modern standards and values.
• Some of these things we will struggle to understand; we just have to believe and accept.
