Living in God's Will with Confidence and Wisdom
In today’s episode, we will reflect on how we can live according to God’s will with steadfast confidence, guided by the wisdom of the saints and Scripture. Together, we will explore the insights of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, Blessed Pope Pius IX, and the Apostle James, discovering how to root ourselves firmly in God’s love and wisdom.
Segment 1: Doing God’s Will in Daily Life
St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, a model of Christian virtue, reminds us of the simplicity and depth of our calling:
"The first rule of our dear Savior’s life was to do His Father’s will. Well, then, the first end I propose in our daily work is to do the will of God; secondly to do it in the manner He wills; and thirdly, to do it because it is His will."
This profound statement reveals three key principles for aligning ourselves with God’s will:
Seek God’s Will in All Things: Like Christ, our lives should revolve around discerning and doing what God desires of us, whether in grand decisions or small tasks.
Obey with Reverence: It is not enough to do God’s will; we must do it as He wills, with humility, patience, and love.
Act for the Love of God: Our motivation should always be pure, striving to glorify God through our actions.
When we commit to living this way, we reflect Christ’s obedience and bring His light into the world.
Segment 2: Confidence in Mary’s Intercession
Blessed Pope Pius IX speaks to the unmatched confidence we can place in our Blessed Mother:
"Let them fly with utter confidence to this most sweet Mother of mercy and grace in all dangers, difficulties, needs, doubts, and fears. Under her guidance, nothing is to be feared; nothing is hopeless."
Mary’s maternal care is a gift of God’s mercy to us. Here are a few reasons why turning to her is so vital:
She Understands Our Needs: As our Mother, she knows our struggles and sorrows intimately.
She Is the Queen of Heaven: Exalted above all the angels and saints, she holds a privileged place in God’s plan for our salvation.
Her Intercession Is Powerful: When Mary asks, she obtains. Her pleas for us before God are never ignored.
In moments of doubt or fear, we must fly to Mary with confidence, trusting in her guidance and intercession to lead us ever closer to her Son.
Segment 3: Seeking Wisdom with Faith
In James 1:5-8, we are reminded of the importance of asking God for wisdom:
"If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God who gives to all generously and ungrudgingly, and he will be given it. But he should ask in faith, not doubting."
This passage offers practical guidance for growing in wisdom:
Ask with Humility: Acknowledge your need for God’s guidance in every aspect of your life.
Have Faith: Approach God with trust, believing in His goodness and His willingness to provide what you need.
Avoid Doubt: Doubt weakens our connection to God, like a wave tossed about by the wind. Instead, anchor yourself in faith and trust.
By seeking wisdom in this way, we can navigate life’s challenges with clarity and strength, relying on God’s grace to sustain us.
Practical Applications
Here are some concrete steps you can take to live out these lessons:
Daily Examination: Reflect on your day and ask yourself if you sought God’s will, acted in the manner He wills, and did so out of love for Him.
Consecration to Mary: Consider consecrating yourself to the Blessed Virgin Mary, entrusting your life and decisions to her maternal care.
Pray for Wisdom: Make it a habit to ask God for wisdom in prayer, especially before important decisions.
Conclusion Prayer
Heavenly Father,
We thank You for the example of Your saints who teach us to live according to Your will.
Help us to seek Your will in all we do,
To trust in the intercession of our Blessed Mother,
And to grow in wisdom through faith in You.
Through the guidance of Mary, our Mother,
May we face life’s trials with confidence and peace.
And may our hearts always rest in the knowledge
That Your love and mercy are unfailing.
We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Thank you for joining me. May this episode inspire you to live with greater trust in God’s will, confidence in Mary’s intercession, and a steadfast desire for divine wisdom. Until next time, may God bless you and keep you always.
