'DES Sons'

Between the 1940s - 1980's,
millions of pregnant women
were given a drug called
Diethylstilbestrol (DES) - as it was
thought to prevent miscarriage.
DES is an extremely potent, synthetic form
of oestrogen.

Pregnant women were given 5mg per day in the
first trimester, increasing to massive doses • as
much as 125mg per day, by the third trimester.
For reference, just 3mg of DES is enough to
chemically castrate a fully-grown man.
In a small survey of 'DES Sons' (men born to
mothers who took DES during pregnancy), 77%
identified as being either transgender, intersex,
or gay.
