Mike Johnson Wins Speakership for 119th Congress

House Speaker Mike Johnson has retained the speakership after a nail biting round of voting. Reps. Keith Self and Ralph Norman switched their votes — giving Johnson the 218 votes needed to win the speakership.

Now the work starts. These next 100 days will be a real test as to whether Johnson has the leadership necessary to get President Trump’s agenda passed in the House. If there’s any trouble, that could mean Johnson’s days are numbered as Speaker.
