Charles's Law is a physical law that describes the relationship between the volume and temperature of a gas at constant pressure. It is named after the French scientist Jacques Charles.
Statement of Charles' Law
"The volume of a gas is directly proportional to the temperature, as long as the pressure remains constant."
mathematical formula
V1/T1 = V2/T2

where:

1. V1 and V2 are the start and end volumes
2. T1 and T2 are the initial and final temperatures in kelvin (K)
Examples
1. If the temperature of a gas is increased by 20%, the volume increases by 20%.
2. If the temperature of a gas is reduced by half, the volume is reduced by half.
Applications
1. Hot air balls
2. Cooling systems
3. Air compressors
4. Scientific research
5. Aerospace industry
Limitations
1. Only applies to ideal gases
2. Does not apply to liquids or solids
3. The pressure must be constant
Relationship with other laws
