Biblical Audio Commentary – MIGA of Old, MAGA Today

Back in the time following that of King Josiah of Judah, the prophet Jeremiah warned continually of coming disaster. Under Josiah, Judah had the advantage of him being a good ruler, one of the few in the history of Israel and Judah of whom the Lord approved. As these things went, Josiah’s son Jehoiakim became king and did much that wasn’t pleasing to God. Because Josiah’s reign, in effect, interrupted the downward progression of the people in their lust after pagan gods and all the practices of the surrounding heathen nations, as soon as he died, they continued their abominable practices, heartily approved of by King Jehoiakim.
