Syria's Exiled Dictator Bashar al-Assad Poisoned in Russia: Reports | Vantage with Palki Sharma

Syria's dictator-in-exile Bashar al-Assad has reportedly survived a poisoning attempt in Moscow. As per an online account allegedly managed by a former Russian spy, the Syrian leader fell seriously ill on Sunday, December 29, 2024. He experienced severe coughing and choking, and medical tests reportedly confirmed the presence of poison in his system. Assad's condition is now said to be stable. After his two-decades-long regime was toppled by the Syrian rebels, Assad fled to Russia, where he has been living under Vladimir Putin's protection since December 8, 2024. Kremlin has released no official information about the alleged incident.
