Officials are acknowledging that there are ‘Very strange similarities’ between the two terror suspects who carried out attacks in New Orleans and Las Vegas.
Shamsud-Din Jabbar who drove his truck through a crowd in New Orleans killing at least 14 people, was a former US Army sergeant from Texas, while Matthew Livelsberger – who blew up a Tesla Cyber truck in front of the Trump Hotel in Las Vegas killing himself and injuring 7 people– was a US Army special forces sergeant from Colorado.
In addition to their military backgrounds, they both served in Afghanistan in 2009 and both men used the same rental car app called TURO– to get the electric vehicles they used to carry out the attacks.
And that’s not all – both me also spent time at a massive Army base in North Carolina
Sheriff Kevin McMahill - LVMPD
“Both of the subjects served at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. What we do know about that is, it's a very large military base and we have no record that they served in the same unit or even at the same years at Fort Bragg.”
Even so, law enforcement says there doesn’t appear to be any definitive link between to two deadly attacks - with Sheriff Kevin McMahill saying they will not rule anything out at this point.
