A JSO Patrol Office was stopped on the Mathews Bridge early in the morning. He was helping two men change a tire on a disabled vehicle.

The officer’s police car was parked behind the two vehicles with activated emergency lights.

As they finished changing the tire, a pickup truck slammed into the back of the police car.

According to JSO, this caused one of the motorists to become pinned between two cars.

30-year-old Aleksandr Bratulin, the pickup driver, was found “slumped over the wheel, with the passenger also unconscious,” according to the social media post.

Two people had major injuries, and the officer had minor ones.

Bratulin faces six counts of DUI with property damage and/or personal injury. According to police, he is also charged for driving under the influence, careless driving, and failure to move over for an emergency vehicle.
