The matter of nuclear energy is very topical in Australia with the Liberal/National Party, under the new leadership of Peter Dutton, advocating the employment of nuclear energy as a way of reducing CO2 emissions. Despite the fact that CO2 has nothing to do with the climate, this initiative does have some merit in that it will cause the Government to lift the ban put on nuclear energy during the time of the Howard LNP Government in 1998 & 1999.
