Suspect In New Orleans Attack Identified, ISIS Flag Found, Officials Say

The suspect in the deadly attack on the New Years celebration in New Orleans has been identified at 42-year-old Shamsud Din Jabbar. He was reportedly born and raised in Texas and served in the U.S. Army. Officials now saying they believe four to five other people were involved.

Jabbar was wearing full military gear and had an ISIS flag in the truck.

Federal sources now saying the pickup truck that was driven into the crowd crossed the border on November 16th in Eagle Pass – however the identification of the driver that crossed border does not appear to be the shooter. The truck changed hands at some point.

The deadly attack in the popular French Quarter in New Orleans that killed ten and injured dozens more is being investigated by the FBI as an act of terrorism. Police say after the suspect drove through the crowd he jumped out of the vehicle and opened fire.

Officials have confirmed that the suspect behind the attack is dead, however they do not believe that he acted alone

President Trump responding to the attack saying,

"When I said that the criminals coming in are far worse than the criminals we have in our country, that statement was constantly refuted by Democrats and the Fake News Media, but it turned out to be true. The crime rate in our country is at a level that nobody has ever seen before. Our hearts are with all of the innocent victims and their loved ones, including the brave officers of the New Orleans Police Department. The Trump Administration will fully support the City of New Orleans as they investigate and recover from this act of pure evil!"
