Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.

Heavenly Father, we thank you for today and the gift of a new year, bringing novel challenges and discoveries for us all. May we utilize our time wisely to deepen our understanding and worship of your holy name. We ask that you empower each of us to persevere through trials and challenges, recognizing they are instrumental in our ultimate growth and development.
