Ep 184 Introducing Substack

I started this channel as a training program for my children, you know the question. Dad, “can you show me how to do that”?

It's only when you start to train people how to trade foreign exchange charts successfully that you realise how much of a challenge it is.

Now a successful trader will tell you it’s 10% Strategy and 90% understanding of Forex chart movements.

So, this channel is a shortcut for them, to the end of the Forex Trading journey. Once you get here, Forex trading is simple.

So, I realised my focus should be on showing them how to read, interpret and understand Forex chart movements. The easiest way to do that was to produce videos using live charts “Levels for the week ahead” then one week later do an “Autopsy of the week that was”.

Showing how in Forex trading the secret is waiting for price to come to you, so I would pick H4 charts and put a level on them that I expected price would retrace to. Sometimes it did, sometimes it didn’t, you get that.

On those charts that obeyed the rules I can show them how to identify what an entry signal might look like. Then show how price went in the direction of the arrow. Finished job done.

Why W1/H4 charts are simple to use and knowing that announcements except the NFP have little or no significance on the outcome.

Back to my children, so when they ask me to show them how I trade Forex charts I could refer them to my YouTube or Rumble channel (Now Substack) and watch and read all they want on how to read, interpret and understand Forex charts.

When they feel they are ready, the test is to produce a video like “Levels for the week ahead” explaining why they chose that level on that H4 chart. This video no longer than 3 mins is to be posted to YouTube but not published. Just send me a link to the video.

Then one week later do an Autopsy like I do on my YouTube and Rumble Channel. Same routine Post on YouTube explain or justify what happened to their levels no longer than 2 mins. Do not publish, just send me a link.

If they pass it takes about 20 minutes to explain the trading details.

After a week or two I thought I could help others on their journey, so my channel started growing with other videos of things people will come across in their Forex trading journey. There is so much rubbish out there, everywhere.

So here we are today 01/01/2025 I publish on Substack because there is so much more information to write about, that cannot be said in just a video.

Paid Subscription what I do on the W1/H4 chart is scalable down to the D1/H1 chart, so that means a lot more opportunities during the week.

The basic idea of Forex chart reading is the same however, there are other considerations. I would describe W1/H4 charts as 2D whereas D1/H1 charts are 3D. A little more complicated.

So, I will now start posting D1 charts identifying potential reversals or continuation opportunities. With Screenshots of live charts.

Also, I will produce audio podcasts because I need to talk to people's ears and the back of their eyelids. These will be things they need to hear and think about.
