The Mysteries of Mithras were the popular religion among the Roman Legio at the time of the Five Good Emperors, the "unipolar moment" of the Pax Romana over the known Western hemisphere at the time (the world west of the Persian-Roman border to the western most provinces of Gaul, Britannia and Terracognesis-Iberia).

The festival of the Birthday of Mithras was celebrated on December 25th (Julian).
