Catalan food is a gem of a Spanish regional cuisine and so many people are unaware of it. In fact, in order to find traditional Catalan restaurants you'll have to search a lot, maybe get out of the city centre, really do your research. There are only a handful of these little family-run establishment in Barcelona, all preserving the ancient Catalan culinary traditions. In these eateries, you'll find forgotten ingredients and recipes that aren't born to have a mass appeal, but are nonetheless charmingly tasty.
