Ukraine's foreign minister met with his Syrian counterpart in Damascus on Monday as the two countries announce cooperation plans.

"Ukraine is interested in a stable Syria and in developing mutually beneficial cooperation," Andrii Sybiha said at a joint press conference with Syria's new Foreign Minister Asaad Hassan al-Shibani.

This is the first official visit by a Ukrainian delegation to Syria in recent years.

The visit comes days after Kyiv announced the delivery of a large shipment of wheat flour to the country following the ouster of Bashar Assad, Russia’s ally.

Sybiha also met with Syria’s de facto leader Ahmad al-Sharaa in Damascus on Monday.

He said Ukraine is ready to share its experience in gathering evidence and conducting.
