Washington, D.C. at Sunrise

As the day begins, we descend into Foggy Bottom, a neighborhood once filled with factories and smoke, now a gateway to the nation’s landmarks.

Along the Potomac River, the Kennedy Center stands—a modern testament to the arts, named for a president whose vision shaped the 20th century.

Turning to the Lincoln Memorial, we face a structure that has witnessed countless moments of American history, from Dr. King’s “I Have a Dream” speech to the personal stories symbolized in pop culture, like Forrest’s reunion with Jenny.

Crossing the National Mall, the Washington Monument rises, a tribute to the country’s first president and its enduring resilience.

Finally, from the Smithsonian, the Capitol Dome comes into view, glowing in the morning light, as it has since 1863—a beacon of hope, even in tumultuous times.

This city, shaped by its history, greets the sunrise as it has for centuries.

I wonder what's in store for 2025?
