Cantonese Chefs' Specialities in Singapore Chinatown Food Complex 🇸🇬

The Chinatown Food Complex in Singapore is probably the most giant food court you'll ever see in the world, hosting an exposition of the best Chinese Singapore Food. The hawker stalls inside are counted in the order of hundreds and hundreds. It's a place that holds an incredible atmosphere - the sight of busy chef's preparing appetising dishes, the noise of bowls and kitchen utensils, hundreds of people eating around you, the intoxicating aroma of braised meats, noodle dishes, sauces, chilli, stir fry food... it's a sensory overload that leaves you enchanted. At least for me.

You need an entire lifespan to taste everything that needs to be tasted inside this food complex, to come back, savour and re-savour all the authentic cuisine you can find there, and I didn't have that time. Moreover, some stalls I had chosen to visit, were closed that day. So in this food tour I decided to focus on some of the best Cantonese meals I could find. In particular, we visit:

1) Chef Leung’s Authentic Hand-milled Rice Noodle Rolls - also knowns as 'Chee cheong fun', it's a staple breakfast in Malaysia and Singapore. The chef is from Hong Kong and these super tasty noodles are handmilled by hand every day.
2) Jin Ji Teochew Braised Duck & Kway Chap - probably the place to go for Chinese style braised duck and pork belly
3) Hawker Chan - a celebrity inside the Chinatown Food Complex, formerly known for serving the cheapest Michelin star meal in the world. The don't have their star anymore but people still queue up big time for their soya sauce chicken with noodles or rice.
