Focus (2024) — Atmospheric Electronic

An atmospheric electronic movement. Enjoy.

It can take hours to program specific tuned sounds yet it is all about preparation. All the sudden the sounds come together in tune. After a few rough starts to get the hands loose, am able record a piece in one cut. The recording is done while playing. Very minor post editing is done afterwards.

Performing this way gives the piece a newness to both musician and listener. It is a fresh, unique experience for both of us.

Musicians usually focus on notes. This person focuses on a very specific palette of sounds in order to depict real-life experiences, similar to a canvas. Given my first decade of music was focused more on chords (and my second decade with expression), currently don't think too hard about what is being played. Consider mostly how it is being played. Is it honest? Is it not predictable? Is it simple? Is it authentic?

Music is composed and played by Yahunatan (Jonathan Raimer). Keyboards and programming by Yahunatan. Composed in 2024.
